I made the houndstooth decor using a hand-cut stencil for the pattern then in-filled with chocolate brown clay slip. Iona's features are highlighted with an antique pink wash. Houndstooth is originally from Scotland where it was developed as a woven textile. The two-tone broken check was made & worn by shepherds as a woollen outer coat in days gone by. The name refers to the jagged teeth of a dog & is also called four-in-four check. Houndstooth was also used extensively in the 1950s & 60s. It is now back in vogue for interior designers. Iona will bring her classic tessallation to your interior design. The wall mask is in the style of a low profile 3D head.
