He studied at the School of Arts & Crafts (Copenhagen) & the Academy of Art (Copenhagen). in 1951, he joined Groupe Espace in Paris, a collective that explored spatial art & was seminal to the concrete art movement's development. Aagaard Andersen taught at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts (Copenhagen) in the 1960's & continued his art practice, working with unexpected media & materials.
