History: These are authentic wool throws handmade on a loom in the Carpathian Mountains (Ukraine).People that create these magic things are called Hutsuls. The Hutsuls are a small-ethnic sub- group of the Ukrainians, they live isolated in the mountains & developed craft forms of their own. Can you imagine, that almost all people of this region are craftsmen. This particular traditional blanket is called Lizhnyk. These rugs are made of pure sheep wool by local women using a technology that dates hundreds, if not thousands of years back. & the secrets of carpetmaking are passing from generation to generation there. Process: LIZHNYK has been handwoven, then felted in the mountain crystal river for several hours, sun dried & slightly brushed on both sides to create soft look.The energy of it is colossal! Lizhnyk will not only warm you in cold days but it also has healing properties. Care: Lizhnyk can be cleaned using cold or slightly warm water & a sponge ( by hands), or you can take it to the dry cleaner's (MIND-ONLY DRY CLEAN! IT'S 100% WOOL).
