This door wedge was originally designed as a solution to our bedroom doors rattling. When they were closed at night with windows open, they rattled in the door frame. At night the wedge does a great job of keeping the door firmly in place, nearly fully shut but just shy of the frame. However it is also handy for keeping the door ajar during the day whilst also allowing it to be pushed or pulled open & shut so there is no need to constantly adjust & re-position it like a rubber or wooden wedge. It has been tested on a medium-deep pile carpet only but I see no reason why they wouldn't work with hard floors providing the door frame is close enough to the floor. The door shown in the photo has a gap of approx. 4 mm between the base of the door & carpet. Alternative fabric doorstop options are available on other listings. ????
