Spring comes suddenly here & one of the first signs are tulips. There are tulips everywhere. The city literally plants hundreds of thousands of bulbs each year in preparation for the following year's Tulip Festival. I have done this piece in a few different colors & you can (or will soon be able to) look at them in my shop. The variety of colors that are available in real life are only out done by their vibrancy. This colorful artwork looks great any place you want to liven things up & bring a fresh look to. I used heavyweight red, mulberry silk papers in this piece. This paper mosaic piece is entirely handmade, including the frame. This is an original process creating the visual effect of tile mosaic using various handmade, recycled & acid-free crafting papers & acrylic gel. The glass-like, glossy finish is easy to keep clean & can be safely dusted or wiped with a damp cloth. The frame has multiple coats of paint & varathane to ensure a solid finish. Smaller pieces are mounted with a wire hanger & larger pieces are secured for hanging using mounted D-rings. Although it looks like tile mosaic it is very light, easy to hang & offers no worries about transport. There is a greeting card based on this series here: (coming soon!)
