This was cut from a small piece of wood we acquired years back. We think it's teak, but we're not entirely certain. It's about 2 x 4 1/2, ten pieces, cut into a bar grid with reverse curves. The grain runs vertically through the puzzle, & it has been sanded to 1200 grit & waxed. We design all of our own grids, but while there are an infinite number of ways to divide a plane, patterns occur over & over. A lot of them turn out to have existed for centuries, & in some cases millennia. This one is quite simple, made by adding curves to one of our bar grids. We've never seen one like it anywhere else, & we're very happy with it. This is a nice small puzzle which is pleasing to the eye & to assemble.
