The compact benches we make are about 16 inches long, & approximately 7 inches wide. The legs are approximately 6 1/2 inches tall. & 3/4 of an inch thick. While only a little shorter than our other benches, some find them more convenient for packing into a back pack, case, or bag & easier to transport. This listing is for a compact version of our folding/rounded leg meditation benches. The bench available & shown in the photos is made from walnut we often call the Wayward Walnut. The legs have the rounded bottoms. A popular option that allows the bench to gently tilt to accommodate the meditator. They are hinged to allow folding for convenient transportation. Velcro patches secure the legs to the bench seat in the folded position. The bench legs are also angled slightly outward. This outward slant provides good lateral stability to the bench. Meditation Benches are also known as kneeling bench, seiza bench, yoga seat, meditation seat, prayer bench, yoga bench, or floor sitting bench They are small wooden benches often used to sit on for meditation practice. For many they are more comfortable than the various cross legged seated postures, yet they still provide a solid base for meditation. Though they can be used for many other activities.
