These 100% cotton, skylight curtains are the perfect fusion of functionality & beauty. The natural, breathable characteristics of cotton offer shade & protection on hot summer days and, on cooler evenings, help to insulate your home. Mounted on fine 2.5mm stranded, stainless steel cable, they are neat & unobtrusive when stacked to one side & open quickly & easily to sit in elegant billows. We calculate the number of billows according to the length & depth of your skylight so that the stacked curtain doesn't hang below the ceiling level wherever possible. The curtain can be removed & stored when not needed or interchanged for a different colour. Each curtain is made to fit your exact measurements so the measuring process is very important, if you are in any doubt as to the construction of your skylight or the location of any electrical cables then you should have a professional measure for you. The cables are best positioned as high in the reveal as possible to allow the stacked curtain to not hang beneath the ceiling level. The side cables sit 4cm from the outside edges & the central cable is equidistant between these. Widths less than 1.2m have the option of 2 cables instead of 3. It is vital to measure the length of each cable at the correct height as they can vary quite significantly. There is a turnbuckle to tension the cables which has approximately 30mm tolerance, however every effort should be made to measure precisely. To order, multiply the width by the length to calculate the area, add your specific size (cable lengths, curtain width & skylight depth) in the personalisation box. The curtain is supplied with the hanging system which consists of; - stainless steel hooks & screws appropriate for fixing into a standard construction of timber & plasterboard, - cables cut to size with an eyelet on the stacking end & a tensioner on the other, - rings with clips to attach the curtain, - a hook to open & close your curtain (pole is not supplied) This system must be fitted by a competent professional. The curtain is 100% cotton & is machine washable at 30 degrees celsius, it is pre-shrunk to avoid any shrinkage when washed.
