Curved walnut wood candlestick - An eco-friendly alternative! Also available in a pack of 3 Handcrafted woodturning, made directly in my workshop in Savoie. Walnut wood is a surprising wood with highly variable colors, ranging from light brown to dark brown & sometimes even two-toned. So let yourself be surprised, you'll be captivated! Diameter: 10 cm Height: 3.5 cm Weight: 150 g - Each piece is unique. As a woodturner, I can guarantee the consistency of the shapes & dimensions described (very slight variations may occur), but from one piece to another, the wood grain will create a unique pattern. The color may also vary, especially on walnut pieces. Wooden objects do not withstand sunlight, large temperature variations, or excessive humidity well. For optimal lifespan, store your dishes flat, completely dry, in a cupboard. Let's talk about wood (FAQ) Is your wood treated? The wood I work with is guaranteed untreated & therefore suitable for all food-related uses. All the objects I create are finished with a fine sanding to ensure a smooth & pleasant texture, & then coated with grapeseed oil for protection & shine. How to care for a wooden object? To wash your candle holder, simply use a little warm water, your usual dishwashing liquid if needed, rinse & then let it air dry in a place where water does not stagnate. Wood is naturally resistant, but above all, remember that it's a living material: so don't hesitate to nourish your wood from time to time. For these candle holders, a light coat of your favorite food-grade oil when it starts to dull will maintain its shine, & that's all there is to it! The advantages of wood? Wood is a living, highly durable material. Therefore, a well-maintained wooden object can last a lifetime. It's an eco-friendly alternative, guaranteed chemical-free & 100% handcrafted. What precautions should be taken? The enemies of wood are excessive heat & excess humidity. I therefore recommend avoiding the dishwasher, microwave, & other similar appliances, as well as soaking your wooden items in water. What steps will my wooden object go through to go from tree to object? Your items will all have gone through a long process & are the result of many hours of work before arriving at your home. Here's an overview: I cut down the tree or retrieve it from the ground. I cut it up, then take it to the sawmill where it will be cut into planks. The wood will then need to dry for a minimum of one year (it takes 1 year of drying for 1cm of thickness, so you need to be patient). Once my wood is dry, the tray finds its place in my workshop where I draw my templates with a compass. Then I move on to sawing to roughly cut out my shape. Now that my templates are ready, I let them dry for an extra month to ensure they maintain their shape as well as possible. & it is only after all these steps that my woodturning skills come into play: I turn the piece, profile it & hollow it out, turn after turn... I will then sand my piece first with 80
