We will not make up the frame until the actual size needed is confirmed. INFORMATION WE REQUIRE TO MAKE A QUOTE: 1. Provide the image size, i.e. photograph, print, painting, etc. 2. The frame type you would like - Black, Grey, White, Teak or Silver. Check our photo of the range of options 3. If you would like a mount or not - choice of White, Cream, Pink, Blue, Black & Grey. This is a standard frame in the deep/boxed moulding, not a 3D box frame with an internal space for 3D items. Frames also consist of: Plexiglass, MDF backing board, D-ring attachments with picture cord for hanging & packaged in clear plastic. WE DO NOT INSERT IMAGES OR PHOTOGRAPHS FOR CUSTOMERS. As these frames are handmade, frame measurements may be a mil or 2 larger than stated. PICTURE FRAME DIMENSIONS EXPLAINED THE ARTWORK OR IMAGE is what you base the frame size on. This is why we require the image size to provide the quote. Note: The artwork/image size is not necessarily the paper on which the artwork is on (e.g. an 810-inch print from a photo lab will usually be 810 inches, but you might print an 810 at home on 8.511 paper. Therefore, the correct size is 8 x 10, not 8.5 x 11.) THE MOUNT BOARD (OR MAT BOARD) If you choose to include a mount board in the framed piece, this mount will surround the artwork, thus increasing the frame size & therefore the cost. The mount aperture is the window in the mount which accommodates the artwork/image & will be cut a few millimetres smaller than the artwork, thus providing a small overlap which allows the artwork/image to be held down. THE FRAME The frame size refers to the inside perimeter size of the frame (i.e. the glass size). The visual window will always be 3 - 5 mm smaller than the glass size, as a rebate is required to hold the glass & backing board in place. The external size of the frame (i.e. the overall size of the frame) must then take into account the size of the frame moulding - known as the frame face profile. Therefore, a 20 cm x 40 cm frame with a frame face profile of 2.5 cm will have an external size of approximately 25 cm x 40 cm.
