The candlesticks are handmade in a village called Tamegroute in southern Morocco which is famous for its pottery. Artisans form their tapered shape by hand, before using a unique glaze. Due to their handmade nature, no two candles are exactly the same. Present on nearly all Tamegroute ceramics will be three characteristic evenly spaced stacking marks on the top of each piece which is as a result of the arrangement of the ceramics within wood-fire ovens.
