Each shelf is cut from select cherry, a hardwood prized for its rich, warm tones & fine, straight grain. The finish is smooth & refined, with a final thickness of 1.75 & clean, finished edges. Cherry is especially known for how it ages: the wood deepens to a beautiful reddish-brown over time, growing more striking with every passing year. Small knots & grain variations are part of what makes each one unique. THE HOVR BRACKET SYSTEM These shelves are mounted using the Hovr Bracket, a patented hidden mounting system rated up to 300 lbs on an 8 deep shelf. It's built on the same principle as a French cleat but engineered from aluminum, which means no sagging, no wobbling, & no visible hardware. You won't find this bracket system on most shelves out there. It's one of the reasons I use it on every single shelf I make. All you need are these tools: -Power Drill -Stud Finder (we strongly suggest that 2 wall studs are used when installing your open shelving) -Pencil -Phillips head drive bit -Level IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ -If you are installing on a tile wall, please let me know as the bracket installation varies slightly. If you need to install using a drywall anchor, we recommend an anchor rated for at least 50 lbs. Installing without studs will dramatically reduce weight capacity. -For depths between 9-12, your shelf will be made from two boards glued together. This is done because wider wood has a tendency to cup over time. Gluing two boards together helps eliminate cupping.
