Inspired by sacred Hebrew texts, the flowing lines of the Rashi script bring a quiet sense of history & devotion to the piece. Lecha Dodi is the heart of the Kabbalat Shabbat prayer, written in 16th-century Safed by Rabbi Shlomo Alkabetz. It beautifully marks the transition between the departing weekday & the welcoming of the sacred Shabbat. Each candle holder is cube-shaped, handcrafted from high-fired stoneware, & brushed with my ivory glaze. The holders are designed for two candle options - you can use tea light candles placed in the included glass inserts, or choose standard Shabbat candles that fit directly into the opening at the top of each cube. Having 24kt gold decoration, hand washing is recommended.
