This ceramic essential oil burner was made on the wheel. I first throw the shape & pay special attention to the depth of the cup/bowl which the oil is poured into insuring that it is large enough for a good few hours of burning... After I have finished making the oil burner I then trim the piece slightly & then draw on it using engobes. My work is bisque fired to 970 . I then paint the piece with clear glaze & fire again to 1,120.
