This coffee table was previously a barrique barrel in which wine was stored in France for around three to five years. in our workshop, the barrel is now being used for a second time & is being turned into a very special coffee table. The special thing about this piece of furniture is the view inside through a glass plate. Because of the years of wine storage, the barrel wood has turned an intense red color. It is not uncommon for the wine to leave traces in the form of tartar, which glitters beautifully. A fine smell of red wine surrounds the coffee table, but this disappears after a few days. & you can also tell where the piece of furniture comes from from the outside. We deliberately keep the characteristic scratches & stains from storage in order to create an authentic coffee table with character & history. Can also be made in other surfaces on request. The tempered glass top also provides a stable storage surface. It is 8 mm thick, 70 cm in diameter & rests on rubber holders that prevent the plate from slipping. To avoid injuries, we sand down & deburr the barrel wood & the rings. To ensure stability, the individual barrel staves are carefully clamped together so that the barrel retains its shape. The rings are also firmly screwed to the barrel. Nevertheless, gaps can appear between the individual staves over time as the wood works & continues to dry. Depending on the appearance, the barrel surface is refined with oil or a glaze. The barrel half & glass plate are packed & delivered separately, as the components are packaged more securely this way. The product is similar to the picture, but differs slightly in color, grain & signs of wear of the respective barrel. Tip-over safety: The product should always be placed on a stable, level surface & away from edges or areas where there is a risk of falling. If the load is too heavy on one side, the product may fall over. This product is not a toy. Keep out of the reach of children. Risk of glass breakage: Strong impacts, blows or sudden & one-sided loads on glass surfaces should be avoided. The product should be checked regularly for damage such as cracks or breaks. in the event of glass breakage (ESG), dispose of the damaged goods or individual parts properly using safety equipment (gloves).
