Hand painted house name sign with a moulded frame. Traditional, formal & classic with a lovely solid feel. Ideal for period homes but also clean & crisp enough to work for modern properties. All signs are cut, framed & finished by hand in my small workshop in Cambridgeshire. They are all painted by hand, using traditional sable brushes & oil based signwriters' enamels - there are no stencils, vinyl or lasers used at any point. This listing is for a sign on Farrow & Ball's Oval Room Blue in a matt finish. This is a colour whose tones change depending on the light, so I recommend viewing the colour page on their website to give you an idea of the full range. Bespoke service Though divided into size brackets, the final dimensions of each sign are dependent on the length of the words required & how they would best fit proportionally. When I receive your order, I'll send you a full scale digital mock up that will give you a clear idea of of how your sign will look, & any different options in terms of layout. Designed to last Every aspect of these signs is designed & carefully finished to last outdoors for as long as possible. Based on a foundation of 12mm marine ply, the primer, undercoat & topcoats are all exterior paints with an expected lifespan of between 5-15 years, depending on the brand. Their life can be extended by maintaining them with a clean soft cloth to remove algae & recoating in clear varnish should any cracks appear. Fittings Signs can be provided with a choice of two fittings; either countersunk screw holes & screws with matching painted heads so that they don't stand out too much, or keyhole fittings on the back. These are invisible from the front but do mean a sign can be lifted on & off, so may not be suitable for high traffic areas. Please note that I am unable to guarantee signs that are drilled after making. Lead times Custom house name signs take between 2-3 weeks to produce, based on paint drying times. I aim to keep a stock of the most common Medium (standard) sizes ready for painting so these may be completed faster. Sizes Small: Maximum 30cm x 15cm including 21mm trim. Medium: maximum 42cm x 20cm including 31mm trim. Large: maximum 52cm x 25cm including 31mm trim. Extra Large: maximum 65 x 30cm including 31mm trim. XL with large trim: maximum 65cm x 30cm including 44mm trim. The lettering styles given here are the three most popular, but as they're hand-painted, do message me if you're after something different! I'm very happy to take custom orders.
