The clockwork is silent & does not tick & make you crazy:) I have added a spare set of hour hands so that you can choose youre style. Hour hands are standard quality. I have put an nice matte hardwax oil on the wood for protection. There is a hanger on the back which you can use to mount it on the wall. This clock would make a perfect gift.
