This sculpture of a geode was made with a combination of glass, clay & Signature Series Epoxy Resin & Metallic Paints. Inspired by the palette of colors found in mother earth, the live edge border has been meticulously painted with the artist own Signature Series Metallic Paints to highlight each relief in the live edge accenting it with whisp's of Cobalt blue, Ultra Violet, Turquoise & Sequoia Green Moss. The reliefs are accented with Metallic Gold, Copper & Bronze creating veins of ore found in nature. The center is highlighted by crystals & glass which are surrounded by a one of a kind burst of colors that the artist mixes upon the canvas & manipulates them to create this stunning piece of contemporary artwork. Joseph McGowan is an American born artist from the state of Rhode Island. His journey through the arts started more than forty five years ago as a young artist selling glass etched mirrors at local fairs & swap meets. That journey was one of self discovery in the arts helping to create his eclectic style. His works have sold nationally & in the galleries of southern California for tens of thousands of dollars. His artistic talents led him to work on Hollywood movie sets & lead artistic painter for the 60th Anniversary celebration of Disneyland of California.
