Hand-carved deer from plum-wood. This incredible beautiful wood in rose, brown up to violet tones is very hard. Because of this quality it is possible to smooth & polish it until it is shining like a precious stone. It is varnished with natural oil & polished with beeswax from our own bees. The figures are made to order. I will carve them for you & the grain of wood will differ from the one you see on the photos, however it will be similar & from the same type of wood.. Plum wood is very hard, but falling on a stone floor, it can break like glass. For this reason the figurines from plum wood I consider to be not for children but for grown ups, who adore the beauty of color, grain of pure wood & the simple & true form of nature.
