sterling Silver Salt Cellar With Sea Horse Spoon

This sterling silver salt cellar is designed with a nautical theme throughout. The base of undulating seaweed weaves together to form a support for the shell bowl, & the spoon is formed by the tail of a classic Greek sea horse, which is rendered with fine detail & expression. This is a great choice with which to start a family heirloom & charm any dining table & curio collection. The work is a casting of three separate pieces, with the shell bowl affixed to the base of marine growth after polishing. Rather than a literal sea horse, I chose to use the more equine mythical rendering found in classic Greek fountains & architecture, seeking a more antique revival feel. The Bowl is approximately 1 3/4 inches in diameter, & the sea horse stands at 1 3/8 inches. This is a museum quality sculpture with a functional dining intention. Although this is not one of a kind, it comes close as I am a one-man operation & can only produce so many of these salt cellars... especially at my age. I am very proud of this piece & have exhibited it in gallery shows. I have another salt cellar in my shop that is one a kind piece with a flower & bird theme. Of course, since there are no reproduction molds for that other one has a higher price point due to the increased work.
