Hand Carved Angel Fish Wood Wall Art, Coastal Decor, Painted

This piece is called Queens of the Sea. Here you have a school of queen angel fish swimming over some coral with a back ground of the ocean floor. Each fish is cut, hand carved to give some texture & is secured at different depths to create a 3D look. kinda simulates an actual school of fish swimming. This was inspired from snorkeling though out the years & going though photos with my grandson who loves the ocean, and, i can't wait to take him diving to see beneath the waves! The plank has a wonderful ocean scene & some surprises if you look closely...i made some (if you will) bubbles with the poly coat. you can see some of it in the right top corner... I used 7 different colors on the fish along with a copper washer & dark blue acrylic eye with every queen. This would look great in just about any location! The fish are made of 1/4 inch birch plywood & are approximately 7 3/4 to 8 inches long & approximately 4 3/4 inches high. The fish are slightly different due to being hand made. All fish are painted on the back a dark blue. The fish are sealed with a light coat of polyurethane to help the color hold for years of enjoyment. The coral is made of an old piece of driftwood carved & painted to resemble coral. I added a few little touches to the coral...hope you like them... The wood plank is pine 24 inches long, 9 1/2 inches high & 3/4 inches thick.(an old shelf...the bottom is rounded) & has been painted on the back & signed by me. The piece is light (3.3 lbs) 26x 10x 3 & can be hung easily. It is ready to hang with a saw-tooth hanger as you see hung in our sunroom. I would recommend if placing outside do so under cover. Only reason, no matter how good a sealer you use on plywood, it will eventually peel if out door on a fence, something like that. I use reclaimed wood that can be hung outside, such as...fence panels, decking, mostly treated lumber. If you have any questions please contact me, thank you, Raleigh.
