We're always excited to make your plant dream a reality. Materials All of our planters are made from an eco-friendly type of plastic, called Polylactic Acid (PLA). While it sounds scary, it's actually the most eco-friendly & renewable type of plastic available. This plastic, created from organic sources such as corn starch & sugar cane is then further combined with organic materials to reduce the amount of PLA used. For each spool of this material we use, a tree is planted to offset the carbon emissions produced by the manufacturer. Imperfections Due to the way 3D printers work, a small seam may be visible running the length of the planter. This has no effect on waterproofness or rigidity, but it may be visible if you place your new planter in a spot where it can be seen from all angles. Process Using computer aided design applications, we start from an idea, & iterate on it until we love it. Usually we'll print a small version of the planter to get an idea of how it looks & feels in our space. After this, we'll tune the printer settings to ensure our quality standards are met. This is one of the hardest parts, as each setting has an effect on quality, print time & waterproofness. It also usually results in us having LOTS of plant pots in our flat ????
