A wee note from Sara at Mini Cottage Creations: The inspiration behind this puffin fabric takes me back to childhood memories of seeing puffins around the Cairns of Coll in the Inner Hebrides, a series of rugged, uninhabited rocky outcrops surrounded by wild seas & salty air. I still remember the excitement of spotting these wonderful little birds amongst the cliffs, standing proudly against the dramatic Scottish coastline. Wanting to capture a little of that feeling, I designed this puffin fabric on linen, inspired by the colours, movement & atmosphere of Scotland's coastal landscapes & the character of these beautiful seabirds. Each piece is handmade by me in Scotland & paired with colourful Harris Tweed woven in the Outer Hebrides, bringing together a little meeting of sea & land, memory & making.
