Muertos Donkey Sculptures

The artisan molded ceramic Donkey Burro sculptures are available in 2 sizes, both Large & Small are fused to thick ceramic base. The Burros sculpted shape is influenced by Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) Traditions. This whimsical work of art is hand painted with colorful Talavera & Majolica influenced patterns that stretch from the back of the back of the head to the tip of the ears. The ceramic base is hand painted with the same matching pattern. Each Donkey is individually painted by the top Talavera / Majolica artisans of Guanajuato Mexico; their technique is inspired by old-world Talavera & Majolica artistry. Every Donkey sculpture is signed by the artist who painted it. The Ceramic is kiln fired with a glossy durable finish safe for outdoor use. Dimensions. Large 16tall x 7wide x 15deep Small 12tall x 4wide x 10deep Above measurements include entire sculpture. The Process. -Hand molded from ceramic that is twice baked in a large kiln. The 2nd bake is done in high-fire kiln with protective glaze finish. lead free paint & Glossy protective Glaze coat that is baked on in a high-fire kiln at 1200 - 1500F. Equipped to hang on wall, Indoor or outdoor display, hand painted, one of a kind, each piece may vary slightly, fair trade artisan crafted Features -This Sculpture is made up of 2 pieces- The Head is fixed with a thick metal pin that inserts to the body & base.
