Tatted & Beaded Lace Dragon Jeweled Morton Bay

This gold & brown beaded tatted lace dragon is my response to the floods here in Brisbane. He is the colour of the invading mud, with gold thread for hope & green beads for renewal. He holds a small piece of found & varnished wood, for he was a member of the Mud Army that cleaned up Brisbane. He is 24 cm long from nose to tail, 10 cm wide, & 7 cm tall from the piece of wood to top of his neck. He is articulated on fine jewellery wire & can be supplied suspended from nylon cord, or as a free standing sculpture. He is beaded throughout, & is carrying a small piece of found wood. He will arrive flat packed, & you can have the joy of flying your dragon when he first arrives! Like all my dragons, he has a back story: The Jewelled Morton Bay Dragon was considered an urban myth until they were spotted repeatedly during the recent Brisbane floods. He is the colour of the mud, with jewel-like spots in both green & gold down its length & on the leading edge of its wings. It is said that the gold is for hope & the green is for renewal. They have been observed helping with the clean-up & have been known to be-friend those affected by the flood. The dragon has been dedicated to the Mud Army, & especially to my own children, my son who faced the floods with courage & determination displayed by this dragon, & my three other children who were willing members of the Mud Army.
