This warm, thick & soft blanket was woven with great love for wool & attention to detail in our small, family-run textile manufactory, which has been in operation for generations. What you receive here after a long manufacturing process is not an ordinary blanket - it is a beautiful, handwoven, unique piece, made to last forever. A durable blanket that is so thick & warm that you can not only use it snuggled up at home or in front of the fireplace, but also as a faithful companion when camping, tenting, hunting or anywhere outdoors where you need a really warm blanket. A blanket that you can give to yourself or your loved ones. We love our mountains & forests, & that's why our wool is processed WITHOUT any chemical substances or softeners. This makes our production 100% sustainable & environmentally friendly. This also preserves the valuable lanolin in our blankets. The organic wool is naturally hypoallergenic, breathable, & temperature-regulating. Furthermore, the wool is also 100% biodegradable. Our wool comes from our own sheep & sheep from the immediate neighborhood. Environmentally friendly & not transported here by ship from the other side of the world. We traditionally do everything the same way our grandmothers prepared the wool for their blankets - first washing it several times in crystal-clear mountain water, dyeing it, & then spinning it. Did you know that the blanket can absorb 30% of its own weight in moisture without getting wet itself & then release it, thus always maintaining a balance? Furthermore, wool is odor- & stain-resistant. Therefore, you don't need to wash your blanket very often. However, we recommend regularly hanging the blanket outside in the fresh air. You can do this even when the air is humid. This way, your blanket will essentially be washed. When the time comes for your blanket to need washing, we recommend either hand washing it in cold water or using a gentle wool cycle in the washing machine at a maximum temperature of 30oC. Please always use a special wool detergent. Furthermore, you should not wring out the blanket, but roll it up & press out the remaining water. Do not hang it up wet, but dry it flat! If you don't need the blanket & put it away in the closet, place lavender sachets or cedar wood inside. If you have a walnut tree in your garden, you can also dry the leaves, pack them into small packets, & place them inside the blanket. However, it should always be taken into account that these are natural materials, & therefore small differences can always occur from production to production, from batch of raw material to batch of raw material. Before using your new blanket, it's beneficial to shake it vigorously in fresh air & ideally hang it on a balcony or in a well-ventilated, humid room for a few hours. This will straighten the surface, which was compressed during storage, & largely eliminate the creases. Any remaining transport creases will disappear with use over the next few days.
