Leather Handmade Jigsaw Puzzle

A leather puzzle, approximately 4 x 8 1/2, 1/8 thick. Nine pieces, finished with saddle soap. Kathy cut a leather puzzle years back, & was very happy with it. Recently we found a new source of thick leather & she made several of these. The grid is the curved bar that we're fond of. Note that this isn't laminated onto wood, it's just a piece of thick leather. Leather is flexible, unlike wood, so the pieces fit together fairly firmly - they're not difficult to get apart, but you can pick the puzzle up & move it without much trouble. Leather ages more gracefully than many materials. One could construct a hierarchy of materials in this respect - plastics look shoddy after minimal wear or damage, cloth can take a small amount of wear, silver is within certain limits not bothered by minor dents & abrasions. I think wood comes at the top - up to a point, scratches & wear give it character. Leather is somewhere in here - old leather has a lot of personality, & it doesn't tend to fall apart providing you treat it with saddle soap every year or so. Leather Handmade Jigsaw Puzzle
