Respect is a tribute to Aretha Franklin. in this depiction she is youthful & confident early in her career, unaware of the fame & recognition she would one day receive as the undisputed queen of soul. The piece is made from a sheet of 3mm thick, 11 x 14 Baltic birch, lacquered & mounted to a 16 x 20 black suede mat. It comes in a custom black frame. As a scroll saw artist I combine creativity with a passion for woodworking to produce my unique art. I work from digital photos of celebrities, couples, kids, pets, friends, & families to create one-of-a-kind, realistic wooden portraits. Much of my most recent work is featured in my shop. Each portrait is professionally hand cut THROUGH a sheet of beautifully grained Baltic birch then sanded, sealed, finished & framed. I don't use lasers or CNC (Computer Numerical Control) to produce any of my art. Please watch my video for a demonstration. Each celebrity portrait is created in a single cutting from a stack of 4 boards. This is the second of four available for this piece. Once all 4 are sold I will not recreate the same portrait.
