Wire Sculpture Heron, Egret 2D 27

Dimensions approx. 27 x 27 For many years I lived on California's redwood coast, where I can see an egret rookery not far from my Wire Zoo studio. On my daily drive, I saw herons & egrets stalking along fields & marshes by the roadside, intently hunting for fishes, frogs & other small things. I'm constantly taking mental snapshots of their intense beauty. Each of my wire sculptures is uniquely one-of-a-kind, capturing the essential spirit of the bird by drawing in wire... each intersection of two strands of wire is securely hand-twisted into place, by a technique I've perfected over the decades. Notice the strikingly diverse effects you can achieve by flipping this sculpture to face left or right... or even the difference between silver on a dark background, or black on a light background.
