A Good Egg - Sold For Judy

As I said in the closing statement of my last piece, Out Foxed, my next piece would be an egg! Here are the beginings. Once again, for those of you who may have an interest, I'll be posting images of my progress, allowing you to follow along. This looks like a wall & not an egg you say? Ah yes, but first things first. Where in history do a wall & an egg intersect? Why, the history of Mother Goose. Humpty Dumpty is the subject of my current endeavors. There is, actually, another history in which a wall & Humpty Dumpty intersect. That is the history of England. This nursery rhyme has its roots in a 17th century event. Humpty Dumpty was a term used to describe a large person. It is thought that Humpty Dumpty was the name given a huge cannon. That cannon was mounted on a fortress wall during the English civil war. Some accident befell the piece & it toppled, smashing to pieces. Pieces that all the kings horses & all the kings men could not put together again. Our Humpty, caught in the first stage of his tumble, will actually never hit the ground. He will be frozen in time, to rock back & forth, perpetually teetering. Perhaps a miscalculated move after being surprised by a bee while calmly taking his afternoon tea results in his predicament. There is another old adage which says, You can't make an omelet without breaking some eggs. It should be noted, however, that in his obit, every one who knew him intimately said that he was a good egg. Have fun, I will A Good Egg - Sold For Judy
