Art by Fire is very pleased to offer the work of artist, Reko Sullivan. Reko is one of the talented artists who works out of our studio here in Issaquah, Washington. These extraordinary pieces are a beautiful fusion of blown glass, & materials from nature. Here, she has used a piece of petrified wood - which is found in Washington. The petrified wood - which is now stone - is cleaned & sanded. Next in the process, she blows the vase which is set upon the base while still in the molten state. Thus it forms to the shape of the stone & becomes integral, but detachable. The vase is amorphous & perfect in it's imperfection - like the nature it epitomizes.
