porcelain orca/ killer whale gift, wall art decoration. Handcrafted in Cornwall, this ceramic porcelain orca whale is a stunning addition to any home. Meticulously shaped & lovingly crafted by myself, with its sleek lines & delicate details, this hand-made whale captures the grace & majesty of these magnificent creatures. Each Orca is lovingly crafted using porcelain clay.After the Orca shape has partially dried, I meticulously hand-clean & refine the edges & back, & create a hole for hanging. Once fully dried, they undergo a firing process in my kiln at a temperature of 1096oC. To enhance their appearance, I employ a layering technique to underglaze paint them with vibrant colors, followed by glazing. They are then fired again at a higher temperature of 1296oC, resulting in a glossy vitrified finish that ensures durability. Finally, the completed decoration is adorned with a sturdy rustic wax cord, suitable for both indoor & outdoor hanging.
