These candles burn quietly & are made for a healthy atmosphere & beautiful moments of reflection. They are made by dipping hot beeswax and, after each dip, are plunged into cold water, dried, & ready for the next dip. All done slowly by hand. This is how they are built up, only to be drawn together in the deep cold. Wax candles are highly regarded alongside stearin & paraffin candles (though they are more expensive). After sufficient storage, they burn efficiently & silently. They are available in all my colors & various lengths. THAT IS SUSTAINABLE I pull the candles (by hand) from the hot wax using the cotton wick. & not by pushing a button (mechanically). They are not poured or dipped in too many. They are made from hot beeswax - each one pulled individually - & they get their substance from nature (collected by the industrious bee colony); They shine with a calm light, spread their atmosphere, & smell pleasant. PROCESS The cotton wick is cut to length, then dipped into hot wax and, after a brief cold water bath, dried with a cloth. The process is then repeated dozens of times until the correct thickness is achieved. The burning time is optimal compared to conventional candles. They do not produce soot. They burn quietly & efficiently, & have a pleasant, subtle fragrance. These candles leave no unpleasant odor in the room, even when several are burning at the same time, for example, on a Christmas tree. FOR COMPARISON Commercially available paraffin candles are made from the so-called lubricating oil fractions of the vacuum distillation of crude oil. During the dewaxing process, a byproduct called paraffin sludge is produced, which still contains up to 30% oil. From this sludge, crude paraffin is extracted through oil separation using various methods. This is then further refined. The extraction of paraffins also produces paraffin oils as a by-product, which can be further refined into white oils, which serve as high-quality lubricants. Hard & intermediate paraffins are produced from slack wax. This sludge is produced during the dewaxing of engine oils. HUMANITIES NOTE Rudolf Steiner on Bees (in Complete Edition 351 - Workers' Lectures, page 147) When people in ancient times made beeswax candles & lit them, they really saw a very strange sacred act in it: this wax that is burning, we have taken from the beehive. It was firmly established there. When the fire melts this wax & this wax evaporates, the wax comes into the same state in which it is in our own body. & in the burning wax in the candle, people used to sense something that was flying up to heaven, something that was within their own bodies. This was something that made them feel particularly devout and, in turn, led them to consider the bee a particularly sacred animal. because it prepares something that man must continually prepare within himself. Wick care: Wax candles should not be blown out; the wick must be dipped into the still-liquid wax or extinguished using a candle snuffer. Afterwards, straighten the wick & trim it if necessary.
