Root Table Made From Original Eifel Root With A Glass Top Of Esg Safety

This is an old, weather-beaten root, fitted with a 6 mm thick pane of tempered safety glass. The pane isn't round; it was laser-cut into the organic shape it's currently in, perfectly covering the root. This gives the table a unique character. I estimate the total weight at around 50 kg. The mounting system is my own invention, as it's held in place by suction cups embedded in the root. This keeps the glass securely in place & even allows for a slight give under heavy load. A particularly striking feature is the hole in the center of the glass, through which the root appears to be pushing upwards. This type of mounting is unique worldwide. It's incredibly secure, & the pane can even be removed if needed (e.g., for transport). To reattach it, simply press the glass onto the suction cups with a little pressure. To keep the root as natural as possible, I deliberately avoided using chemicals, only a few nails here & there, some wood glue & of course a few small brass casters to ensure the table stands securely. The root appears to float on a series of aluminum rods integrated into the designed base plate. If needed, the base plate can be easily removed using two recessed pins. I also like to call it the orchid table, as I originally designed this type of table for that purpose. Of course, it can also be used as a side table or living room table. It's also particularly well-suited for displaying specific items in a showroom. As I mentioned, each table I handcraft is unique; small imperfections & bark chips are not flaws but rather intentional. Anyone who doesn't understand this shouldn't buy this table. I've worked full-time for many years as the owner of an advertising & marketing agency. I originally studied product design & am passionate about building furniture from things others would throw away. It's important to me, however, that the finished furniture looks sophisticated & elegant thanks to the combination of high-quality new materials.
