Assemblage Spinning Sculpture Art, Titled Spring Point Corner

This Assemblage art sculpture is one-of-a-kind. The sculpture is one of over 40 unique pieces in a collection, this piece is titled Spring Point Corner. in my process I assemble discarded components to create a symmetrical design that is pleasing & intriguing. As the top chrome shaped piece is turned four points reconfigure a new symmetrical design. Springs hold four corners in tension & a reflective base reflects the underside of the sculpture. An optional wall or table top stand is available for an additional $10.00. Example of display stand shown in photo (art in this photo not included). After we weathered the financial storm of 2008 I was forced to downsize our studio & quickly liquidate much of our equipment. I kept several pieces from computers, office equipment & even my old tie racks (won't be needing those ties anymore). in some kind of a funk I assembled these pieces. It reminded me of all the model cars & planes I glued together as a child. Each of my sculptures is built to move. Some spin (on old skate bearings & hard drive bearings), bounce, & glitter or just express shapes. Each piece has its own symmetry or composition when viewed from above, & a unique appearance from each side depending on where one stops the spinning art. Someone reminded me of ancient prayer wheels that devotees spin each day. Something about spinning an object appeals to people. Thanks for viewing.
