When our heaters stay cold or our apartment isn't warm enough, blankets are our salvation. This warm, thick, & soft blanket was woven with great attention to wool & detail in our small, family-run textile factory, which has been in operation for generations. What you get here after a long manufacturing process is no ordinary blanket - it is a beautiful hand-woven unique piece that is made to last forever. A durable blanket that is so thick & warm that you can use it not only while snuggled up at home or in front of the fireplace, but also as a faithful companion when camping, tenting, hunting, or anywhere outdoors where you need a really warm blanket. A blanket that you can give to yourself or to your loved ones. We love our mountains & forests & that is why our wool is processed WITHOUT any chemical substances or softeners. This makes our production 100% sustainable & environmentally friendly. This also preserves the valuable wool fat in our blankets. Organic wool is naturally hypoallergenic, breathable, & thermoregulating. Furthermore, the wool is 100% biodegradable. Our wool comes from our own sheep & sheep from our immediate neighborhood. It's environmentally friendly & not transported here by ship from across the world. We do everything traditionally, just as our grandmothers used to prepare the wool for their blankets - first washed several times in crystal-clear mountain water, dyed, & then spun. Did you know that the blanket can absorb 30% of its own weight in moisture without getting wet & then release it, so that a balance is always maintained? The wool is also odor & stain resistant, so you won't need to wash your blanket very often. However, we recommend that you hang the blanket outside in the fresh air regularly. You can also do this when the air outside is humid. This way, your blanket will be washed, so to speak. If the time comes when your blanket does need to be washed, we recommend washing it either by hand in cold water or in the washing machine using a gentle wool program at a maximum of 30oC. Please always use a special detergent for wool. Furthermore, you should not wring out the blanket, but roll it up & squeeze out the remaining water. Do not hang wet, dry lying down! If you don't need the blanket & put it in the closet, add lavender sachets or cedarwood. If you have a walnut tree in your garden, you can also let its leaves dry, pack them in small packages, & place them between the blankets. When you finally hold one of our handmade blankets in your hands, please note that small variations in color or size are possible. Every blanket is unique! Therefore, slight deviations, either up or down, may occur. Our quality control accepts such size differences of up to 3% (plus or minus). Colors: Despite constant checks, small color variations can still occur. Not every batch of yarn is the same; some are slightly different in their basic shade or absorb the dye differently. & especially with natural melange shades such as light natural/ecru, small differences can always occur. However, it should always be taken into account that these are natural materials & therefore small differences can occur from production to production, from batch to batch of raw materials.
