They are kept busy making the best quality: poufs & ottomans travel bags. business bags back packs handbags shoulder bags belts Our leather products are made only from premium grade leather without the inherent pungent smell that the majority of the leather goods made in Morocco have when new. Note: Product comes unstuffed. Instructions are emailed with tracking. Moroccan Pouf Stuffing Our unstuffed Moroccan poufs can be filled with a variety of materials depending on what you have available & the kind of finish you wish to achieve. We recommend using a filling of scrunched up newspapers. Polystyrene balls (60L per pouf) are expensive & difficult to handle so if you want to use them it is advisable to use a liner, for example an old pillow case, & fill in the bath or outside as the beads tend to escape...all over the place! To achieve a firmer, heavier pouf try using cotton, felt, or wool fabrics. We've also found that old towels & sheets work well - & it's eco-friendly too! Our personal favourite is scrunched up newspaper. How To Stuff Your Moroccan Pouf Make sure the material you are using is clean & dry 2. The zipper is located on the bottom of the pouf. Unzip the pouf & open it out to its full shape 3. Start by gradually filling the sides at the top of your pouf to ensure that all the nooks & crannies are fully stuffed. This will prevent dimples & bumps in the finished pouf 4. Continue stuffing evenly - add a layer of stuffing & push it down firmly (again, ensuring that the sides & seams are fully filled out) before moving on to add another layer 5.Continue until the pouf is full. The pouf will bed down over time & more filling can then be added as required. Leather Characteristics: All leather smells when it is new. There is no way around it, considering it is an animal product and, in this case, organically tanned. All of our leather is organically tanned & dyes are handmade & applied to the Leather by hand. While part of the appeal of leather is it's odour there are people who don't like the smell... less than 1% according to our stats. Most people like it & tell us so. If you don't like it there are some things you can do to get rid of it. We add 100% Pure Essence of Moroccan Rose to our Neatsfoot leather oil for the natural, undyed poufs such as Tan. Leather smells go away in time. As the leather ages the pores close up & the odours disappear. The more you use the leather item, the quicker the smell wears away. You need to use leather items to close the pores. in time it will take on a more under-stated smell that's more appealing to the senses than brand new leather. Pack Poufs With Newspaper Old newspapers are more porous than leather which makes them ideal for absorbing odours. If you want to get rid of the smell of brand new leather quickly you can pack them with scrunched up newspapers. The fibres of the newspapers act as wicks which lift odours from the leather & are also an excellent way of preserving the untreated reverse surfaces.Make sure the newspapers are dry.
