Each of my pieces of work are one of a kind, depending on how I feel in that moment when I enter my studio.. This tea light holder is made using a hand building technique, known as pinching .I use white clay with 1% grog which I feel enhances the depth in my work. After I have finished pinching the initial shape of the bowl I then start to sculpt the expression onto the bowl. At this stage i feel like my work becomes alive. Originally my influence came from the idea of fancy dress but quickly turned into the essence of who we feel we are ,how we want others to see us or how we truly feel.... After I have finished making the candle holder I paint it with copper oxide ,after it's dried I take a damp sponge & remove the majority of the oxide, leaving elements of oxide to enhance the expression....I then paint over the oxide with colored engobes . My work is fired to 1186 degrees. I do not use glaze on my work as I feel the piece has a lot more depth without glaze. I then paint gold luster on the rim of the candle holder & re-fire for a third time. The measurements are approximate. I use recycled boxes & numerous layers of bubble wrap .I take great care to ensure items arrive safely, in the unlikely event that an item arrives damaged I'll replace the item(see refund policy). Orders are shipped by Eco post, each package will have it's own tracking code. Delivery times are estimated, delay may occur due to holidays.
