Deck Chair Made From Wine Barrel Staves

This authentic lounge chair made from wine barrel staves is made from a used red wine barrel, which gives it its distinctive red colour. The individual staves made of solid oak wood act as a comfortable seat & can be folded up to save space when not in use. For our deck chair, the staves of a used wine barrel are upcycled into a new product. The oak barrel was previously used to store red wine, which is why the seat is intensely red in color & exudes a light red wine scent. Because the wood no longer gives off any flavor to the wine over time, it is sorted out by the winegrowers & then prepared in our workshop for further use as a piece of furniture. We continue to use the used wine barrel by taking it apart & grinding down & shaping the individual staves. in the next step, the pieces of staves are assembled into a deck chair in a complex manual process. Since the seat & backrest consist of two elements, the piece of furniture can be folded up to save space when not in use. The deck chair is suitable for people up to 100 kg. in addition, we cannot guarantee that the product will permanently withstand the load. Wood is a natural raw material that continues to work even as a manufactured product. If the deck chair is used outdoors, the natural oak wood of the used barrels can turn gray & become brittle. Depending on the humidity, the wood shrinks or swells, so that the screws in the deck chair may have to be tightened. Each barrel has its own signs of wear.
