Art by Fire is very pleased to offer the work of artist, Reko Sullivan. Reko is one of the talented artists who works out of our studio here in Issaquah, Washington. These extraordinary pieces are a beautiful fusion of blown glass, & materials from nature. Here, she has used a piece of driftwood from one of our beaches fed by the Pacific Ocean. The driftwood used here is cleaned & dried for many months. Reko then thoroughly cleans, sands, & lightly oils the wood to obtain a smooth & lustrous base. Next in the process, she blows the bowl which is set upon the base while still in the molten state. Thus it forms to the shape of the wood & becomes integral, but detachable.
