Size: 45 x 45cm Material: 100% recycled cotton This hand tufted cushion cover is made on a natural recycled cotton weave, with a cheerful check pattern worked in orange, pink, yellow, green & blue tufted loops, finished with a blue tufted border all the way round. The contrast between the textured tufting & the plain woven base gives it real visual depth, & the plain reverse with a discreet end zip makes it practical enough to use as an occasional floor cushion too. Each cover is handcrafted in India by skilled artisans working for a small textile exporter that has been trading since 1986. Around 25 people are employed at any one time, & the work provides a meaningful, regular source of income in the local community. Tufting is a precise & patient craft. Using a hand-operated tool, artisans build up each design loop by loop, shaping the pile by hand to create the finished pattern. No two pieces are identical.
