Over The Edge - Installments Gladly Accepted

This earlier piece was inspired by a trip to Glacier National Park in northwestern Montana. It's a vast & beautiful place & these animals haunt the peaks in many areas. The Rocky Mountain Goat is also the logo for The Great Northern Rail Road. This company vigorously promoted the park in an effort to create interest in the form of tourists. They would then generate business carrying those tourists as passengers to the park. They felt the Mountain Goat most accurately embodied the spirit of that high place. Inside a circle of blue & red is this impressive white animal, precariously perched on a precipitous peak. (Please pardon the alliteration, I sometimes get carried away). Throughout the park, I saw these huge animals nonchalantly standing on the side of what appeared to be vertical walls. My rock is not so vertical, but my goat stands placidly looking over the edge. The orange color splashed around it reptesents the lichen that is found growing on the mountain sides there. I've tried to convey the goat's muscular forms & heavy coats. This fellow stands a modest 21 high on his perch, & is 20 from rocker to nose. & though my Rocking R brand is not in evidence on the outside, I assure you it is burned into the underside.
