A 25-cm-tall handmade ceramic doll inspired by Kazimir Malevich's work in theatre costuming. Model 2 A clay masterpiece of art based on the 1931 Sportsmen painting. Malevich's harlequins depict four figures in athletic outfits, with a Suprematist twist that renders them as colourful silhouettes against a plain background. The original painting, as captivating as these figures, bridges the gap between reality & figuration. The sculptures fill the room with vibrant colour: red, yellow, blue, green, white. Yet, they possess soula serene solidity that soothes & calms. Made & painted by hand in northern Italy by the third generation of a family of master ceramists with a workshop in the Milan region. I became so excited that I realised all of us are different, with unique personalities & ways of being. Then I understood Malevich.
