The Steamlight Sconce is an elevated spin on an average object. The functional design allows you to adjust the amount of light by opening & closing the steamer shade. We put as much care into the design of the light created by our fixtures as we do the fixtures themselves. Each light is made by hand, & the skilled craftsmanship results in a truly one-of-a-kind, unique lighting fixture. Our Story: It all started with a birthday present I made for my wife, a bedside light from a vegetable steamer. We were amazed by how good of a lamp it was, being able to open & close & also, because the bulb is off center I allowed it to be rotated so that the light could be aimed at a 360 degrees circle. Plus it created amazing light textures around it & projected them all over the room at night. She could aim it right at her book & let me sleep in the dark. After that we decided to take it seriously & work on designing it as a lighting product. We sought & found the perfect steamer for the job, & made this hard wired model so it can be installed on a wall junction box. We developed a tilt that's connected to its rotation so the light beam can be aimed in any direction, developed a reflector & a small handle to help with opening & closing, & gave it a long life energy efficient xenon bulb that gives a warm light color tone. We even filed a patent on the three dimensional light control aperture shade & designed the packaging. We offer this lamp in a brushed finish Technical Information: Dimensions: 5.5 diameter when closed, 9.5 when open The wall plate is 5 wide & the lamp's distance from the wall is 3.75 supplied with a 20W xenon bulb that is twice more efficient in its energy use than a regular incandescent (equivalent to a 40W incandescent) & has a longer life span of 5,000 hours. To be mounted on a standard electrical junction box. All electrical components are UL registered. Packed in an elegant recycled box, fit for a present.
