Description

This porcelain bud vase was made on the pottery wheel & then fired in a gas kiln with soda ash & sodium added top create unique surface designs. The firing took place at Sugar Maples Arts Center in the Catskill Mountains of New York state in an outdoor brick gas kiln. It took 2 full days & the making process & transportation to the kiln took several more. Soda & salt fired pots are so special because you really are relying on science, nature & the 'kiln gods' - you can never predict the results! That's what makes these pots special & why they cost more to make which is reflected in the sale price.
