Large Segmented Wood Bowl made from segmented wenge & padauk staves. This is a beautiful bowl is made with 12 wenge wood staves for the body & 12 for the base. Inset in the bottom of the base is 4 padauk wood staves. I used a high friction clear, low gloss polish to showcase the rich beauty of the wenge wood. The wenge is from Africa & it is a dark, richly colored, & extremely oily wood. The photos do not do it justice! This can be a useful & decorative bowl used for fruit, salads & other items or just displayed without anything. I do not recommend that it is allowed to stay wet for long periods of time. The finish is a low gloss, high friction finish from England. This bowl would make a wonderful gift for a wedding or just for a special someone in your life. It's an awesome bowl to display alone or filled with fruit on the kitchen table. Also a great centerpiece for your dining room or entry hall.
