ABOUT OUR CRAFT: Every whimsical character is handmade in upstate New York using the lost art of spun cotton, a century old craft inspired by the techniques used by cottage artisans who made holiday ornaments in Victorian era Germany. Each piece is made using cotton, cotton batting, a wire framed armature, & various types of paints & washes. Many of these adorable treasures are outfitted in crepe paper clothing, & accessorized with a variety of new, vintage, & found materials, including Dresden scraps, ribbons & trims, antique Czech glass beads, vintage paper, glitter, & many other materials. All people characters have paper scrap faces that originate from images from Victorian postcards. Most animal figures/ornaments have hand painted details & are bendable.
