This listing is for an embroidery kit to make the Strawberry Thief pillow to finish at 12 by 16. Kit comes complete with linen (plum) marked with design, DMC pearl cotton threads in both size 3 & size 5, written & illustrated instructions with lots of photos. This kit is different in that there is a kit within this kit - yes a separate pouch includes materials to work the berries & includes: red cotton fabric, embroidery floss, quality glass beads, beading needle & threader. It is a lot of fun & more simple that it seems. Introduced in 1883 as a wallpaper design, William Morris' Strawberry Thief has been adapted here in hand embroidery, & includes berries worked in Stumpwork, which is raised 3D elements that are worked on a separate background, cut out & hand sewn to the final piece. The berries are worked entirely in French knots & also include glass beads for highlights. Shown here in a linen base of muted plum & thread colors of burgundy, pale rose, nutmeg, green, ecru & taupe create a pleasing palette. Also available on natural linen background if you prefer.
