First, the warp threads are dyed using the traditional ikat method of strategically shielding some areas. Next, the warp is threaded onto the loom. Finally, the weaver hand cuts the center section of dyed fabric, & moves it so that the fabric results in a familiar yet unique chain pattern of alternating dyed & un-dyed sections.
