The winter solstice is the shortest day of the year, marking the bringing about happiness for brighter days ahead. The raven brought back the light according to a Native American legend, so he is here resting on a branch. Ornaments without the raven can be made by request. Either fallen on my property, or found during one of our hikes through the forest. Hence our name, Forage :) The ornament is sliced from the branch & sanded in three steps before I wood burn an organic design onto it, paint it & then burn again. Each image is done free hand, so no two are exactly alike. Finished with a water based poly so it is satiny smooth. The finish is also essential to prevent cracking or damage to your wooden keepsake. Ornament size is approximately 2 - 3 Diameter Naturally occurring imperfections are present in every piece of wood. Nothing is perfect, but that's what we love about Nature!
